Sports world Ghana’s Edmund Okai Gyimah makes AIPS awards shortlist

Sportsworldghana.com football writer Edmund Okai Gyimah has made the shortlist for the 2022 AIPS international journalism award best column category.

The astute football writer is the only person from Ghana who made the list in the first stage where 60 sports journalist made the cut from the over 1000 who participated in that category

Lots of Ghanaian sports writers submitted their works for the award but Edmund’s article was chosen after voting by AIPS jusges as the best from Ghana and he was the only one from the African country who made the grade.

His article, titled “Precarious Arabian Journey: Local African footballers being scammed into a paradise which never was” is based on an encounter he had in Dubai with some young Ghanaian players who had been scammed and left stranded there as well as others from many African countries.
