Ghana has been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of English-born Ghanaian forward Callum Hudson-Odoi following his exclusion from the England squad.

The Chelsea FC star has been left out of the Three Lions team for the upcoming UEFA Nations League against Germany, France and Hungary.

Odoi played for the England youth teams but is still eligible to represent Ghana at the senior level despite playing up to the U21 team of the European country.

Gareth Southgate announced a 27 man squad for the three matches but opted not to include the 22-year-old in the squad for the games.

Due to injuries, the attacker played only 15 matches in the 2021-22 English scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process.

Ghana could take advantage of the situation and hand the young player a call-up to play for the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar later this year.
