Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus is showing encouraging signs of returning to his best form after providing an assist for James Maddison in Tottenham Hotspur’s encounter against Coventry City.
The former West Ham United attacker played a key role in Tottenham’s attacking move, setting up Maddison to open the scoring and underline his growing influence in the team’s forward play.
The assist takes Kudus’ tally to two for the season, following his earlier contribution in Tottenham’s match against Aston Villa.
Kudus has built his reputation on his explosive pace, close control, dribbling ability and capacity to create scoring opportunities out of difficult situations. His latest contribution offers further encouragement that he is gradually rediscovering the confidence and sharpness that made him one of Ghana’s most exciting attacking players.
Although there is still work to be done before he can be considered fully back to his best, his ability to influence games and create chances remains an important asset for Tottenham.
For Ghana, Kudus’ improving performances will also be a welcome development, given his importance to the Black Stars. When operating at his highest level, the attacking midfielder possesses the creativity, strength and individual brilliance to trouble defenders and change the course of a match.
His second assist of the season may be only a small statistical milestone, but it provides another positive sign for a player looking to re-establish himself among Tottenham’s most influential attacking options.
If Kudus can maintain this momentum and consistently produce decisive contributions, he could soon be back to the level of performance that made him such a dangerous player in English football.
