The Black Stars held their first intensive training on Tuesday afternoon at the Kumasi Baba Yara stadium ahead of Friday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier encounter with Congo with striker Raphael Dwamena.
The FC Zurich attacker who was supposed to arrive in Ghana on Tuesday wasn’t able to join his teammates at training in Kumasi.
Twenty-two [22] out of the 24 players invited trained at the venue where the crucial match will be held.
Striker Raphael Dwamena and defender Lumor Agbenyenu were the only players who couldn’t trained with the team having failed to arrive on time.
The team arrived in Kumasi on Monday afternoon with 11 players on board including Norway based Edwin Gyasi.
The technical team recommended a recovery training session which involved ball work on the tennis court of the Golden Tulip Hotel before holding their first training at the stadium on Tuesday.
Head Coach Kwesi Appiah and his charges have two more days to train before facing their Congolese counterparts on Friday.
The team leaves Ghana on Saturday for Congo Brazzaville for the reverse leg on September 5.
