Samuel Ashie Quaye found the net for Great Olympics in a 1-0 win over Bechem United in the betPawa Premier League opener for the 2022/23 season.
The wing-back found the net in the 82nd minute for Oly Dade to ensure they took 1st place for the next 24 hours.
The game started in less exciting fashion as the keepers for both teams were not tested as much. It was the same theme in the second half until Quaye, who won the U-20 AFCON with the Black Satellites, found the net for the hosts.
His goal was the third time a home team has scored the first goal in an opening GPL fixture in the last five seasons.
Bechem United are currently bottom of the log and will hope to improve.
