Samuel Ashie Quaye’s goal against Bechem United on Saturday was the third time an opening goal has been scored by a home team in the last five opening Ghana Premier League matches.
Earlier on Saturday, Great Olympics clinched a 1-0 victory over Bechem United thanks to a goal from Samuel Ashie Quaye late in the game.
The 2022/23 campaign has started on a good note for Great Olympics who are looking to get their hands on the trophy following some dominance from Hearts of Oak and Kotoko over the years.
