RC Lens midfielder, Salis Abdul Samed, says he is eager to play for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The midfielder was expected to be part of Ghana’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Central Africa Republic but injuries meant he didn’t make the squad.
The midfielder has been in fine form since joining Lens from Clermont Foot during the summer transfer window, scoring one goal in eight league games so far.
Speaking to Joy Sports, the player revealed that it will be a proud moment for him and his family should he get an opportunity to represent Ghana.
“I want to play for Ghana. I want to make my mom proud,” he said.
“What will be more beautiful than when my mother switches on the television and I’m playing for Ghana? What will be more beautiful than my relatives watching me on TV play for Ghana? It is everyone’s dream to play at the World Cup. Some countries are angry because they’ve not qualified for the World Cup.”
Samed will hope to make Otto Addo’s final squad for the World Cup despite not being named in the last squad for the September friendlies.
