Kumasi King Faisal FC recorded their first win in their last four games on Sunday afternoon at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The Green and Whites outfit beat the Pride of the North 1-0 at home in the week 17 of the 2022-23 Ghana Premier League season.
Both teams failed to find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes of the match despite some good chances falling to both set of strikers.
Two minutes away from the full time whistle, Benjamin Bature scored the winning goal for the home team to make it 1-0 at full time as King Faisal ended the first round with a win.
King Faisal will host Berekum Chelsea FC in their next game whiles Real Tamale United FC travel to face Samartex in Samreboi.
