During Tuesday evening’s training with the Black Stars, Jojo Wollacott was injured when a goalpost fell on him.

The Ghana Football Association has since provided an update on his condition, reporting that he suffered a soft tissue contusion of his right big toe and received immediate emergency treatment from the medical team.

He was later evaluated at the team hotel’s medical room and found to be almost pain-free, with no significant medical issues.

The medical team has cleared him to train on Wednesday and confirmed his availability for selection. Wollacott had recently recovered from a finger injury that prevented him from participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. On March 23, the Black Stars will face Angola in the first leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, followed by the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27.

With four points from two games, Ghana is currently tied for first place in Group E after a 3-0 victory over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with the Central African Republic in June 2022.
