Former Legon Cities head coach Bashir Hayford believes Chris Hughton’s presence at Ghana Premier League games will be a source of motivation for the local players.
The Black Stars head coach has taken it upon himself to visit more Premier League games since being appointed the gaffer of the senior national team.
Hughton took over the team after Otto Addo’s resignation following the exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 64-year-old promised to see more local games as part of his time in Ghana and has not looked back since then attending some of the Premier League matches, something Hayford believes will keep the players excited.
“That will even encourage you, you shouldn’t be under pressure because he will not come to you as an individual to tell you that I am watching you so play well, no.
“He comes to sit down there, and so if you hear that the national coach is here, you will be willing to impress him. That one will inspire them to perform than saying that they are going to be under pressure no, I don’t think so,” he told Radio Gold.
