After securing the signing of goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott from Charlton Athletic, Hibernian manager Lee Johnson highlighted three key attributes that the goalkeeper brings to the team.

The Easter Road side completed the deal for Wollacott on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Wollacott made 20 appearances for Charlton last season and has gained experience playing in the lower divisions of English football.

Despite this, he has also showcased his abilities on the international stage, earning 11 senior caps for the Ghana national team.

David Marshall was the club’s No1 last season but with the capital club competing both domestically and on the European stage this coming campaign, the Hibees boss stressed the importance of strengthening his goalkeeping ranks.

“We’re delighted to bring Jojo to the Club and I’m looking forward to working with him again,” Johnson said.

“He’s a player I’ve known for some time and it’s great to see that he’s starting to fulfil his potential. He now has over 100 games under his belt and has played on the international stage with Ghana.

“He’s an athletic, brave, and confident goalkeeper, and with big competitions coming up it’s important we’re strong in the goalkeeping department.”

Following his arrival, Wollacott has already joined his new teammates and goalkeeping coach Stuart Garden in preparations for the upcoming Scottish Premiership campaign and the Europa Conference League qualifiers, scheduled for later next month.

The Wollacott’s presence adds strength and depth to Hibernian’s squad as they look forward to the challenges ahead.
