Morocco’s U23 national team has earned their place in the final of the TotalEnergies CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, maintaining an undefeated record throughout the tournament.

After securing three victories in the group stage, they progressed to the semi-finals, where they faced a challenging match against Mali that ended in a 2-2 draw. Eventually, Morocco emerged victorious in a thrilling 4-3 penalty shootout.

Looking ahead to the final showdown against Egypt, head coach Issame Charai recognizes the formidable task at hand. “It won’t be easy. Egypt, as the defending champions, will present a tough opposition, and we need to give our absolute best,” emphasized the Moroccan coach.

Reflecting on the semi-final clash, Charai praised the efforts of both teams and expressed satisfaction with the outcome. “We are pleased. It was a highly competitive match, and I would like to extend my congratulations to Mali as well. We witnessed an intense and well-played game,” added the Moroccan tactician.

With their sights firmly set on the ultimate prize, the Moroccan team is determined to deliver a strong performance in the final. Fully aware of the challenge posed by Egypt, a renowned footballing nation, the Moroccan players and coaching staff are fully committed to giving their all on the pitch.

The stage is set for an enthralling encounter as these two African powerhouses go head-to-head in a battle for continental supremacy.

The final promises to be a spectacle of skill, determination, and sporting excellence as Morocco strives to secure the coveted title of U23 champions of Africa.
