As the 2023/24 season approaches, Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Kudus left a lasting impression in Ajax’s pre-season friendly clash against Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, where they secured an impressive 3-0 victory.
The 22-year-old displayed his skill and finesse by opening the scoring for Ajax in the 18th minute, confidently converting a penalty after Devyne Rensch was fouled inside the penalty box.
Ajax continued their dominance, with Steven Bergwijn adding a second goal in the 32nd minute, courtesy of an assist from the talented Mohammed Kudus.
Just two minutes later, Kudus showcased his striking ability again, slotting home a close-range finish after being set up by the ever-assisting Steven Bergwijn. However, Kudus was subbed off at halftime, likely as part of a strategic rotation by the coaching staff.
Despite his stellar performances, speculations have arisen regarding Kudus’ future at Ajax. Reports suggest that Brighton and Hove Albion are leading the chase to secure the services of this versatile playmaker, and negotiations for a potential deal are underway as the transfer window approaches its closure.
While Ajax would surely like to retain the services of their talented midfielder, attempts to extend Kudus’ stay at the club have yet to come to fruition, leaving uncertainty about his long-term prospects with the Dutch outfit.
Ajax fans will be anxiously waiting to see how this situation unfolds, eager to witness more of Kudus’ magic on the field or possibly bid farewell to a player who has left an indelible mark during his time with the club.
