All fines imposed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on the players engaged in the alleged match-fixing game between Inter Allies and AshantiGold SC have been reversed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The Ghana FA’s Disciplinary Committee sanctioned 21 players after they were found guilty of tampering with the results of a Ghana Premier League game two seasons ago on match day 34.
Following the suspension judgement, the Professional Football Association of Ghana (PFAG) petitioned CAS via the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) to overturn it.
Following the appeal, the players were given permission to register for the 2022/23 season. The directive was to allow them to compete in football until the matter was heard and decided by CAS.
However, after several months, CAS published its verdict, which reversed all of the punishments imposed on the players.
