Coach Didi Dramani, head coach of the Black Galaxies, has called up a diverse group of approximately 96 players for screening at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence.

The main aim is to form the national team B and create a comprehensive player database for continuous monitoring. Dramani wants the players to adopt a specific philosophy and style of play, allowing for better integration and adaptation.

He is pleased with the progress of the first phase, which includes players from various domestic leagues and junior national teams. Despite the absence of ongoing competitions, the initiative is fully supported by the management committee chairman and the president.

“The idea behind this is to reconstitute the national team B, which is the Black Galaxies that’s why I grouped the players so that they will begin to have a certain philosophy and then we create a certain style of play,” he told Ghanasportspage.com in an interview.

“It will give them the opportunity to have integration and adaptation at the level because the A team, which is the Black Stars assembles for just two days before they play a game so it is good to begin to give this boys the orientation and know how to handle themselves in those postures.

“We are about finishing the first phase of our screening and it has been impressively done. I have created a huge database. A database of domestic players especially the Premier League teams, from the Division One, Division Two, and the junior national teams that is the under 20’s, the U-23 and the Universities. This is the sod of work we are doing.

“I met the management committee chairman and the president and told them the idea behind it. They are all fully in support of it. Even though we don’t have any competition but it should be work in progress always.

“We will continuously monitor some of the players who are not part of the team. We will still follow and monitor them when the league starts.”

Dramani has shortlisted 27 players for further consideration after the initial screening. The selected players are scheduled to report on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
