‘Fraud’ Prosper Harrison Addo must resign as GFA General Secretary’ – Alhaji Grusah rants

Alhaji Grusah, the Bankroller of King Faisal FC, has made explosive statements, calling for the resignation of Prosper Harrison Addo, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and accusing him of being a fraud.

These allegations have emerged in the aftermath of King Faisal FC’s disappointment as their hopes of overturning their relegation from the Ghana Premier League were dashed.

The controversy revolves around a match that took place on May 6 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, where King Faisal FC suffered a devastating 4-1 defeat against Tamale City FC. King Faisal FC lodged a protest, alleging that Tamale City FC had fielded an ineligible player, specifically Isaac Mensah/Jireh Kojo Nissi, seeking a victory by default.

The potential three points from this protest could have significantly improved their chances of avoiding relegation. However, the GFA dismissed King Faisal’s protest, and the football governing body was given a 20-day ultimatum by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) to respond to the appeal.

Despite this, the GFA urged that the case be thrown out, stating that granting King Faisal’s request for a stay in judgment would cause more harm to the league and the teams that have already qualified for the Ghana Premier League. The GFA emphasized that these teams had invested substantial funds to meet the league’s licensing regulations.

During an interview on Happy FM’s Wamputu Sports show, Alhaji Grusah accused the GFA’s general secretary of incompetence, demanding his resignation. He expressed frustration over the immediate release of fixtures for the next season’s Ghana Premier League when the GFA received the letter from CAS about King Faisal FC’s intention to put an injunction on the league.

“The General secretary should resign, he is a fraud and doesn’t know his job. He is getting paid for doing what exactly. The GFA immediately released the fixtures for next season’s Ghana Premier League when they received the letter from CAS about our intention to put an injunction on the league”.

The outcome of this dispute will have significant implications not only for the teams involved in the next season of the GPL but also for the integrity of Ghana’s football governing body.
