“I’m not concerned about money, I want to restore Hearts of Oak to its glory days” – Tunisian coach Khalil Abid

Experienced Tunisian coach Khalil Abid is resolutely determined to revitalize the fortunes of Ghana Premier League powerhouse, Hearts of Oak, and guide the club back to its illustrious past.

““The position of Hearts of Oak last season, which was 12th, was very poor for a team of such stature in the Ghana Premier League,” Abid asserted, expressing his conviction that under his guidance, the team will regain its position as a dominant force in African football. Abid’s wealth of experience and impressive track record provide a robust foundation for this ambitious undertaking.

Abid’s vision for Hearts of Oak transcends domestic success. “During my tenure, Hearts of Oak will once again compete on the African stage,” he proclaimed. His strategic approach and profound understanding of the intricacies of the game hint at a promising future for the club in continental competitions. He envisions a revival that will echo the historic moments that have defined Hearts of Oak’s legacy.

“I have visited Ghana on several occasions and I am well acquainted with the football landscape,” Abid shared, highlighting his familiarity with Ghanaian football. Notably, his agent, who is based in Ghana, has been in direct communication with the club’s management to convey Abid’s strong desire to lead the team. Abid was quick to emphasize that his motivations go beyond financial gains. “I am not here for monetary reasons; that is not my objective,” he affirmed.

Hearts of Oak’s recent appointment of Dutch coach Rene Haddick as the new Technical Director has garnered significant attention. Now, with seasoned Tunisian coach Khalil Abid on the radar, the club’s aspirations are reaching new heights.

Abid’s extensive experience, which spans both playing and coaching successes in the Tunisian League, adds a layer of depth and wisdom to his coaching philosophy.

As it stands, the identity of the dugout leader for the Phobians in their inaugural Ghana Premier League match, scheduled to commence on August 15, remains uncertain.

Their opening fixture will be an away clash against Real Tamale United.
