Ambitious English Premier League side Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Ivorian star midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré on long term deal.

He was signed from UEFA Champions League side and Dutch Eredivisie giant PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds have fought off competition from a host of clubs across the globe to secure the services of the Ivory Coast international midfielder, who has signed a five-year deal with the club.

Sangaré arrives on Trentside having played an integral role in helping PSV qualify for this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.

The commanding midfielder scored eight goals in 45 appearances in all competitions last season, as the Dutch side finished second in the Eredivisie.

Sangaré’s importance for PSV hasn’t wavered this season either, with the 25-year-old scoring two goals as Peter Bosz’ side qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stages this week.

Born in the Ivory Coast, Sangaré began his professional career in France with Toulouse, making 86 appearances before making the move to the Netherlands in 2020.

During his three years at Philips Stadion, the Ivorian has won three Johan Cruyff Shields and two KNVB Cups, making 140 appearances for PSV across all competitions.

A key player for the Ivory Coast national team, Sangaré has scored nine goals in 31 games for his country since making his international debut as a 17-year-old.

Sangaré will wear the number 6 shirt during his time on Trentside.
