Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku is hoping for a better Black Stars campaign in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars on Thursday, September 7, qualified for their 10th consecutive AFCON tournament after beating Central Africa Republic in Kumasi.
The victory meant that Ghana qualified for the 2023 AFCON as winners of Group E.
Reacting to the victory, a happy Kurt Okraku said that the target of the team is to do better than the disgrace in Cameroon where Ghana exited from the group stages.
“Some few months ago, we were at the AFCON, it didn’t work and we said to ourselves, we would want another opportunity to make it work. You have made that opportunity come to us so we have an opportunity to go to the AFCON to make it work.’’
‘’Let’s keep that in mind, we have to go to the AFCON and make it work. Today, let’s enjoy it because we’ve made it. Beyond today, let’s start to think and look at the bigger picture,” Kurt Okraku said.
The Black Stars finished bottom in their group without winning a single game despite being in a group consisting of Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
