Salifu Ibrahim, the attacking midfielder for Hearts of Oak, will not be making a loan move to Nsoatreman FC as initially proposed, and this decision comes on transfer deadline day.

According to insider sources, despite being considered surplus to requirements at the Accra-based club, Salifu has chosen not to depart from Hearts of Oak this season.

Salifu originally joined Hearts of Oak from Techiman Eleven Wonders two seasons ago and played a pivotal role in their triumphant campaign in 2021. However, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder encountered injury setbacks during the previous season. Although Salifu has been a part of the Hearts of Oak squad currently training in Koforidua, it is reported that he is not included in the technical team’s plans for the upcoming season.

Ibrahim was presented with an opportunity to go on loan to Nsoatreman FC, a move that could have allowed him to rediscover his form and continue his development in a different setting.

Nsoatreman, under the guidance of Coach Maxwel Konadu, initiated contact with the player and engaged in a conversation.

The player consented to join Nsoatreman primarily to secure more playing time. An agreement was reached between Hearts and Nsoatreman regarding the transfer fee.

Nsoatreman then faced the challenge of accommodating the player’s monthly salary, which was initially set at 6,000 cedis with Hearts. After negotiations, they settled on a reduced amount of 3,000 cedis.

Hearts subsequently conveyed this proposal to Salifu and his manager, but the manager declined the offer. The 23-year-old will now remain at the club and vie for his position under the guidance of the new manager, Martin Koopman.

Salifu’s talent has garnered widespread recognition, particularly when he was named the Most Valuable Player during the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
