Former Ghana defender, Joseph Paintsil believes the Black Stars stand a good chance of winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

John Paintsil states that Ghana can win the tournament but they need to go into Ivory Coast with a strong mentality to lift the trophy.

Paintsil who made over 90 appearance for the Black Stars made this comment after Ghana’s qualification to the 2023 AFCON.

“Ghana can win the AFCON but other teams are also pushing. It tough one but if we do our things well and prepare the mindset of the players, we can win it.”

“The players must have a WINNING mentality because, without it, they will not be able to win it. We take a step at a time and I believe that we are too close to winning it,” Paintsil told Ghana Web.

The Black Stars qualifed for the 2023 AFCON as winners of Group E after accumulating 12 points
