Referee Julian Nunoo has received a brand new Hyundai Elantra saloon car as a reward for being named the Referee of the Season for the 2022/23 season.
The announcement was made by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon at the inaugural GFA Awards ceremony held at the UPSA Auditorium on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
Referee Nunoo emerged as the winner, surpassing the performances of Rustum Senorgbe and Dr. Imoro Osman, who were also exceptional in the previous season.
During the awards event, GFA President Simeon presented the car key to Referee Nunoo, emphasizing that the award aims to inspire all referees to deliver outstanding performances in future seasons and enhance officiating across all leagues.
Additionally, the following officials were recognized:
- Emmanuel Dolagbanu was named Assistant Referee of the Season.
- Gloria Sena Kumedzro received the Female Assistant Referee of the Season award.
- Rita Nkansah Boateng was honored as the Female Referee of the Year.
- Mr. Michael Ayeh and Madam Alice Ayine were recognized as the Male and Female Match Commissioners of the Season, respectively.
