English-born Ghanaian defender Jarell Amorim Quansah played a key role in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup victory over Leicester City on Wednesday night.

Liverpool secured their seventh consecutive win in all competitions as they came from behind to defeat Leicester City 3-1 in the Carabao Cup.

Leicester City, a Championship team, got off to a dream start at Anfield when Kasey McAteer scored just three minutes into the game. Despite Liverpool’s efforts, the score remained unchanged until halftime.

However, Liverpool quickly equalized just three minutes after the second half began, with Cody Gakpo finding the net after an assist from fellow Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp then introduced two influential substitutes, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai.

It was Szoboszlai who made the biggest impact, unleashing a powerful shot in the 70th minute to give Liverpool the lead. Diogo Jota sealed the victory with a clever finish in the 89th minute, assisted by English-Ghanaian defender Jarell Quansah.

Jarell Quansah, born to Ghanaian parents in England, remains eligible to represent Ghana, adding further potential to his already promising career.
