Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum remains resolute in his pursuit of excellence despite the team’s lackluster start to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors encountered difficulties in their initial two matches, securing a goalless draw against Heart of Lions in their season opener and suffering a loss to Bibiani Gold Stars in their subsequent game at Duns Park over the weekend.
Ogum, however, remains undaunted by these early setbacks and maintains confidence that his team will improve as they prepare to face Karela United in their upcoming match at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“There is no pressure. Our target as a team is to be the best” he said at the pre-match conference.
Ogum, who returned to the team during the off-season, is committed to guiding the club to success once more, having previously led them to a Ghana Premier League championship two seasons ago. His earlier departure from the role was attributed to alleged disputes with the management at the time, resulting in division among the fanbase.
He was subsequently given the opportunity to reunite with the Ghanaian giants following the dissolution of the club’s board and management.
Despite their underwhelming performance in the first two games, Kotoko currently occupies the 17th position on the Ghana Premier League standings and is eager to make a swift recovery.
