Isaac Mintah scored his 8th goal of the season in Aduana Stars’ 2-1 away win at the Hohoe Sports Stadium. He doubled their lead in the 39th minute after Kelvin Obeng had put the visitors in the lead in the 18th minute. Mustapha Yakabu pulled one back for Accra Lions in the 74th minute but was not enough to rescue a point for them.

On loan from New Edubease, Isaac Mintah scored 7 goals in 26 games for Aduana in the whole of the 2022/2023 season but has scored eight goals in nine games so far this season. We are not even at the one-third stage of the season but he is proving to be the best goalscorer in the country now.

The 25-year-old has found the back of the net on six occasions in his last 4 games. It has been a very beautiful week for him as he scored a brace in Aduana’s 4-2 win against Bofoakwa in the Bono Derby in midweek. He scored on Aduana’s 3-1 win over RTU in Tamale and also a brace in their 3-1 home win against Accra Great Olympics.

A move to Hearts of Oak didn’t materialise as there were rumours that Hearts of Oak were ready to splash the cash to get his signature from New Edubease.

The formal Legon Cities and New Edubease forward’s form can drive Aduana Stars to win the title, although it is too early to talk about a title win.

His late arrival makes him look dangerous in the opponent’s eighteen-yard box. Strong on the ball, and blessed with pace and power, Isaac Mintah has made fans forget about Bright Adjei’s absence. He sits comfortably on top of the goalscoring chart with 8 with Dauda Saaka of Bofoakwa Tano second with 5 goals.
