Ghana are keen to end their over 40 years wait for its first Africa Cup of Nations trophy as they prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which will be held in Ivory Coast next year January, 2023.

With the middle of the field being the strength of the senior national team, Ghana needs a gem who can carry the team on his shoulder to power the team into success and no other player comes close to Saudi Arabia based midfielder, Bernard Mensah who recently retired from the national team.

Bernard Mensah embodies the ideal midfielder for Ghana due to a combination of key attributes. His exceptional vision allows him to anticipate plays, dictating the game’s pace with intelligence and precision. Mensah’s versatility enables him to seamlessly transition between offensive and defensive roles, providing a well-rounded presence in midfield.

His technical prowess, characterized by precise passing and skillful ball control, sets him apart. Mensah’s ability to navigate tight spaces and break through defensive lines contributes significantly to creating goal-scoring opportunities for Ghana. Moreover, his proficiency in long-range passes adds a strategic dimension to the team’s play.

Mensah’s work ethic and tenacity are equally vital. In both defensive and offensive phases, he demonstrates a relentless commitment to winning back possession and driving the team forward. His leadership qualities shine through, inspiring teammates to raise their performance levels.

Importantly, Mensah’s experience on the international stage and exposure to top-tier European football provide a valuable perspective that can positively influence Ghana’s midfield dynamics.

As the linchpin, he brings not only individual brilliance but also the ability to elevate the collective performance of the team.

In essence, Bernard Mensah’s combination of vision, versatility, technical skill, work ethic, and experience positions him as the indispensable midfielder that Ghana needs for success in tournaments like AFCON.

Bernard Mensah is a Ghanaian professional footballer born on October 17, 1994. Primarily an attacking midfielder, he has played for various clubs during his career.

Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is calling on the Ghana Football Association and Black Stars technical team to the include midfielder Bernard Mensah into the Black Stars team in the upcoming games.

After he felt vindicated with his incessant rants for the inclusion of former West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC graduate Majeed Ashimeru, Gyan has now chanelled his energy into bringing the firmer Spain-based midfielder to the team.

Asamoah Gyan, a legend in Ghanaian football, stood against the backdrop of the city’s energy, passionately advocating for the inclusion of Bernard Mensah in the Black Stars despite the midfielder announcing his retirement a year ago.

Gyan, with his illustrious career and keen eye for talent, believed that Mensah’s prowess on the field could bring a new dimension to the national team.

The football community buzzed with anticipation, awaiting the response from the national team selectors. As the night settled in, Ghanaians everywhere engaged in spirited discussions about the potential impact of Mensah’s inclusion in the Black Stars team in the upcoming games.
