Veteran Journalist Moses Foh Amoaning recommends Herve Renard as ideal replacement for ‘STRUGGLING’ Chris Hughton

Respected lawyer and broadcaster, Moses Foh-Amoaning, asserts that Herve Renard, the accomplished French coach and former assistant to Claude Le Roy for Ghana, is the ideal candidate to lead the Black Stars following Chris Hughton’s departure.

While recognizing Renard’s apt understanding of Ghanaian football philosophy, the major hurdle lies in his financial demands, deemed too substantial for Ghana. Foh-Amoaning, expressing concern over Ghana’s declining performance, advocates for considering Renard as Hughton’s successor.

Despite recommending Renard, Foh-Amoaning suggests allowing Hughton to fulfill his contract until its expiration in February 2024, emphasizing the need for a coach who comprehends the nuances of Ghanaian football and can navigate its future.

“I’m not happy about changing coaches but where the team is headed is not good. If you look around which coach can help? If we don’t like him, put in an interim technical team and get a coach who well understands our football,” Foh-Amoaning shared on Sompa FM.

He further noted, “If I look around the world, I think it’s Herve Renard who can manage Ghana, but we don’t have money to pay him. He seems to understand us better, he’s been here and been with the people. He has the confidence to carry the whole country along with him. If we have the money, let’s look for him. He is the best coach who can handle us.”

Renard’s past success, leading Ivory Coast to victory in the 2015 AFCON, adds weight to Foh-Amoaning’s endorsement.
