Ghana Premier League giant Accra Hearts of Oak SC have taken a decisive step by reporting referee Reginald Collins Amoah to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for alleged misconduct following their 3-2 defeat to Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC.

The Phobians’ loss in their matchday 14 encounter against their rivals has positioned them at the 9th spot on the Premier League log, accumulating 16 points.

In the aftermath of the game, discontent among fans of the Rainbow Club was palpable as they squarely laid the blame on the center referee for the defeat suffered at the hands of their bitter rivals.

Responding to the grievances of their supporters, the leadership of Hearts of Oak has formalized their concerns by submitting an official complaint to the country’s football governing body.

The crux of Hearts of Oak’s complaint revolves around the conduct of referee Reginald Collins Amoah, with the club urging the GFA to launch an investigation into the actions of the match officials, particularly focusing on the center referee. The club seeks clarity and accountability for what they perceive as questionable decisions made during the intense match against Asante Kotoko.

Referee Reginald Collins Amoah, who has officiated five games in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, now finds himself at the center of this controversy.

The outcome of the GFA’s investigation will undoubtedly shed light on the allegations and determine the course of action, maintaining the integrity of the league.

Looking ahead, Hearts of Oak aims to bounce back from their recent setback and return to winning ways.

The upcoming matchday 15 fixture against Nations FC at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex provides an opportunity for the Phobians to regroup and demonstrate their resilience on the field.
