Ghanaian midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi has conveyed his eagerness to answer a potential call-up to the Black Stars for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Cote D’Ivoire early next year.
The 33-year-old, boasting a decade of active football in Europe with stints in Denmark, Sweden, Turkey, and currently, Finland, brings a wealth of experience and exposure to the national team.
Adu Kofi, who earned his first and only Black Stars invitation in 2016, expressed his willingness to represent Ghana in the upcoming AFCON after a commendable season that helped Finnish second-tier side EIF qualify for the topflight (Veikkausliiga) for the first time in 90 years.
In an interview with Angel TV in Accra, he confidently stated:
“I am ready to play for Ghana. I’ve been playing active football for the past years.”
“My qualities as a midfielder will be impactful if I get the chance to be in the Black Stars squad for the next AFCON.”
With Coach Chris Hughton yet to unveil the squad for the prestigious continental competition set to kick off on January 13, 2024, Adu Kofi eagerly awaits the opportunity to contribute his skills to the Black Stars’ campaign.
