1. Hearts of Oak faces a stern test in Abrankese

Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex will welcome Accra Hearts of Oak for the first time in the Ghana Premier League- it is a first-ever Premier League fixture between Nations FC and Hearts of Oak.

Nations FC are the team of the moment as they have won their last 5 games in the Premier League. It is a team full of confidence ahead of this tough game.

Hearts of Oak is the direct opposite of Nations FC. Phobia has recorded just one win in their last 7 league games, there’s no better time for Hearts of Oak to react than this weekend although Phobia faces a good opponent.

2. Dawu welcomes Tano Bofoakwa

Tano Bofoakwa is still serving their three-home matches ban. A 2-0 defeat at Abrenkese in the first of the 3-home match ban was catastrophic. They are travelling from Sunyani to Dawu in the Eastern Region to host Legon Cities. Bofoakwa is in turmoil as they have won only one match in the last 9 matches.

A match against the unpredictable Legon Cities in a neutral location is tougher.

Legon Cities have won their last two games against Great Olympics and RTU.

The best first-half performance of the season was probably Legon Cities’ 3-0 first-half massacre of RTU. They disintegrated RTU within 35 minutes hence Tano Bofoakwa must be extra careful when meeting Legon Citie.

3. Accra Great Olympics hosts Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara

Kotoko has the chance to close the gap on the top of the table as Accra Great Olympics has chosen Kotoko’s stronghold to host the Porcupine Warriors. Hearts of Oak got their money at Baba Yara but lost the 3 points in the Super Clash. Accra Great Olympics will undoubtedly focus on the two as results haven’t gone their way recently. No victory in the Great Olympic’s last four games is a huge concern to the Accra-based club as they are little by little falling down the table.

Prosper Nateh Ogum’s Asante Kotoko is on four consecutive winning runs in the Premier League. A win over Accra Great Olympics will boost Kotoko’s confidence before the end of Round One.

4. Frimpong Manso makes his managerial debut for Bibiani Gold Stars

Dun’a Park will welcome a new face in terms of coaching as ex-Bofoakwa gaffer Frimpong Manso will be shown to the Gold Stars supporters. Micheal Osei’s departure was painful but necessary as results needed to be changed at Dun’s Park. Frimpong Manso must bring back the fear factor to Dun’s Park.

Bibiani Gold Stars is lying 17th on the league table and a win might take them out of the relegation zone.

Samartex will reclaim the top with a win over Bibiani Gold Stars in Bibiani.

5. Real Tamale United faces Stephen Amankonah

Berekum Chelsea quickly bounced back to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Accra Great Olympics last week after losing to Kotoko before that game. RTU is the easiest team to score against as they have conceded a whopping  25 goals in 13 games. RTU faces in-form Stephen Amankonah who has been Berekum Chelsea’s main man. Can RTU stop him and record their second win in their last 8 Premier League games?
