Cypriot team Olympiakos Nicosia secured a triumphant victory over Achyronas Onisilos, with Ghanaian forward Eric Appiah emerging as the hero by netting a crucial goal.

At the youthful age of 22, Eric Appiah showcased his prowess on the field, sealing the fate of the game with a decisive goal that propelled Olympiakos Nicosia to a 2-1 triumph in the Cyprus Division Two League’s round 13 clash.

The opening act unfolded with Columbia forward Camilo Triana making his mark, deftly converting a penalty in the dying minutes of the first half. The 27-year-old’s precision from the spot provided Olympiakos Nicosia with a 1-0 lead as the teams headed into the break.

As the second half commenced, the atmosphere intensified, with both teams engaging in a fiercely contested battle. The home side, fueled by the desire to equalize, transformed the game into an evenly matched affair.

In a pivotal moment, Eric Appiah seized the opportunity to extend his team’s lead, securing their second goal in the 79th minute. With his precise strike, Olympiakos Nicosia surged ahead 2-0, leaving their opponents with an uphill battle.

However, the home crowd found solace when Adi Alic managed to breach Olympiakos Nicosia’s defense, scoring a consolation goal for Achyronas Onisilos just five minutes after Appiah’s pivotal goal. The match concluded with Olympiakos Nicosia emerging victorious with a final scoreline of 2-1.
