Abdul Fatawu Safiu expresses his gratitude at the chance to play for Asante Kotoko once again, emphasizing his sense of fortune in fulfilling his dream of representing the club.

The 26-year-old has officially committed to a two-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors, extending his association with the team until January 2026. Acknowledged as a key figure among Asante Kotoko supporters, Safiu earned recognition as the best player and top scorer in the NC’s special competition in 2019, further solidifying his status as a fan favorite. His return to the squad follows stints with Trelleborgs FF and FC Trollhättan in Sweden.

In expressing his joy after the official announcement of his signing, Safiu shares his excitement through the club’s official website. He emphasizes the significance of playing for Kotoko, a club he has supported passionately since his youth.

Safiu acknowledges the fulfillment of his childhood dream and considers himself fortunate to have the opportunity to play for Kotoko not just once, but twice. He underscores his commitment to contributing wholeheartedly to the team’s success.

Safiu’s initial stint with Kotoko during the 2018-2019 season left an indelible mark. The 26-year-old striker showcased his prowess by netting an impressive 13 goals in sixteen appearances.

His notable performances extended beyond the domestic league, making a significant impact in the CAF Confederation Cup. Safiu’s return to Asante Kotoko is marked by a sense of determination as he aims to build on his past successes and continue his journey with the club he holds close to his heart.
