Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya voices concern over club’s poor form in Ghana Premier League

Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya expresses frustration with the team’s recent performances in the Ghana Premier League, highlighting the urgent need for improvement.

The Porcupine Warriors have endured a challenging spell since the resumption of the domestic top-flight campaign, enduring a winless streak of four matches for the first time in 14 years, resulting in a significant downturn in form.

With just one victory and five losses in six games during the second round, Kotoko currently sits in 10th place on the league standings, a position that falls short of the club’s high standards.

Addressing the club’s media, Yahaya, a former King Faisal player, emphasizes that such subpar performances are unacceptable for a club of Kotoko’s stature and history in Ghanaian football. He asserts the team’s determination to swiftly reverse their fortunes.

“As a big club, we don’t deserve such poor performance in the Ghana Premier League. We engaged ourselves on how we can turn things around as soon as possible” he told the club’s media.

As Kotoko prepares to face the Hunters at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Saturday, both teams are poised for a crucial showdown, aiming to secure vital points in the upcoming fixture and reignite their respective campaigns.
