It has been confirmed officially by CAF that the top four ranked teams on the continent for the last 5 years based on their performances in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup will represent the continent in the maiden edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup tournament to be played in the USA.
Al Ahly is the highest-ranked team for the past 5 years by CAF having won 77 points. Moroccan giants Wydad follow in second place with 60 points. Third is Esperance Tunis who has accumulated 56 points with South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns finishing the top four with 54 points.
TP Mazembe is 7th in the list with 38 points but it has been confirmed by FIFA and CAF that the Congolese side will be in the maiden edition of the new FIFA Club World Cup if they win this year’s CAF Champions League title.
TP Mzamebe is paired with Al Ahly in the semi-finals. A whole lot is at stake for the Congolese side in the ongoing CAF Champions League.
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be played in the 2025 Summer.
