His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the revered owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko, has shed light on his decision not to hand over the club’s management to any individual at this time. He revealed that the club is still burdened by debt left behind by previous management.

In a meeting held with players, coaching staff, and the interim management committee of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II disclosed that he has already spent GHS5 million to settle some of the debts incurred by past management. This financial commitment is the primary reason behind his reluctance to entrust the club to anyone else for now.

“I spent GHS5 million to clear some of the debt of past management. This is the reason I don’t want to hand over my team to any individual at the moment,” Otumfuo Osei Tutu II explained during the meeting. He emphasized his personal dedication to ensuring the stability and success of the club, even in the face of financial challenges.

Furthermore, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II expressed his determination to safeguard Asante Kotoko’s future, stating, “I will personally call the GFA to dissolve Kotoko before you take the club to relegation.” This statement underscores his unwavering commitment to the club’s well-being and his willingness to take decisive action if necessary.

Meanwhile, amidst these financial concerns, Otumfuo has issued a rallying cry to the Asante Kotoko team to urgently reverse their poor form, which has seen them go seven games without a win.

With an upcoming Ghana Premier League game against Samartex FC looming, Otumfuo has urged the team to prioritize securing victory in order to regain momentum and bolster morale. His encouragement underscores the importance of resilience and determination in overcoming challenges on the field.

Asante Kotoko, steeped in tradition and legacy, carries the hopes and aspirations of its loyal supporters. Otumfuo’s unwavering support and guidance serve as a source of inspiration for the team as they strive to overcome adversity and achieve success on the pitch.

In the face of financial hurdles and sporting challenges, Asante Kotoko remains resolute in its pursuit of excellence. With Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the helm, the club is guided by a steadfast commitment to its values and a shared vision of greatness.
