Karela United and Accra Lions are set to clash in a Ghana Premier League Week 27 showdown at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Karela United, the hosts, have experienced a mixed bag of results lately, winning two and losing three of their last five matches. In contrast, Accra Lions have been more consistent, securing three wins and suffering two losses in their recent outings.

The upcoming match holds significance for both teams. Karela United is aiming to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak in their previous game. Hamza Issah scored twice, and Salim Adams added another goal for Hearts of Oak, while Dafie Mohammed scored Karela United’s lone goal.

On the flip side, Accra Lions are riding high after a 2-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars, with goals from Mohammed Yahaya and Daniel Awuni.

Currently occupying the 16th spot on the league table with 30 points, Karela United is eager to secure a victory to distance themselves from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, sitting in fifth place with 39 points, Accra Lions are eyeing a top-four finish to potentially qualify for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
