Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah showcased his talent in Al Tai’s 3-1 loss to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday evening.
Despite the team’s defeat, Mensah’s contribution stood out as he provided an assist for Al Tai’s lone goal, adding a spark of brilliance to the match.
The game, hosted at the Kingdom Arena, witnessed Al-Hilal dominating possession and displaying superiority in shots on goal. The opening goal arrived in the 16th minute, courtesy of Salem Al Dawsari’s left-footed strike from the left side of the box.
Al-Hilal maintained their pressure and extended their lead in the 43rd minute with a precise right-footed shot from Michael. The third goal for Al-Hilal came in the 59th minute, as Malcom found the net with a left-footed effort from the center of the box.
Despite facing a daunting deficit, Al Tai displayed resilience and were rewarded for their perseverance in the 63rd minute. Mensah, who featured in the starting lineup and played for 66 minutes, orchestrated a brilliant assist for Andrei Cordea, who scored with a left-footed shot from the left side of the box.
Although Al Tai’s comeback attempt fell short, Mensah’s stellar performance served as a bright spot for the team.
Throughout the season, the Ghanaian midfielder has consistently impressed, featuring in 29 games, scoring 14 goals, and providing two assists in the Saudi Pro League.
