Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has praised Steven Dese Mukwala for his outstanding performance in the team’s victory over Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The win completes a season double for Kotoko over their arch-rivals, following an earlier 3-2 triumph. Mukwala, an international player from Uganda, scored both goals in a 2-0 victory at the Baba Yara Stadium during matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League.
Mukwala opened the scoring just eight minutes into the game and sealed the win with a second goal in injury time, securing all three points for the Porcupine Warriors.
“I think Steve made it so beautiful. I engaged him before the game and I think he has lived up to the task. I’m even short of words,” Ogum remarked.
This victory propels Kotoko into the top half of the table, now sitting in 9th place and moving further away from the relegation zone. In contrast, Hearts of Oak are in a precarious position, currently 14th on the table and just two points above the drop zone.
