Asante Kotoko SC, one of Ghana’s most storied and well-followed football clubs, will be representing Ghana at the prestigious Capital City Africa Cup in Washington DC, USA, in October 2024.

The team has been given approval by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to participate in a high-profile international friendly match against Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United on October 12, 2024, at the state-of-the-art Audi Field in Washington DC.

The annual ceremonial match, organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the GFA, is part of the activities to mark Ghana Week DC 2024, which takes place from October 7-12, 2024. The matchup between the two historic teams will amplify the celebration of Ghanaian culture in Washington, D.C.

This is the second time a Ghanaian Premier League Club will be embarking on a trip to the United States to play an MLS side after Medeama SC lost 2-1 in a similar high-profile friendly on October 14, 2023.

Asante Kotoko SC will look to make a positive impact on the international stage and showcase Ghanaian football talent.
