Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante says he’s enjoying his time at Coventry and England

Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante is settling in well at Coventry City after his summer transfer from West Bromwich Albion. The 25-year-old signed a four-year deal with Coventry following a standout performance last season.

Reflecting on his transition, Thomas-Asante acknowledged the adjustment period that comes with joining a new team. “I have changed teams, so it’s been a transition period. Naturally, when you go into a new team, it happens. When Aguero went to Manchester City, he didn’t get into the team straight away,” he said.

While he would have liked to start more games, Thomas-Asante is confident in his abilities and the trust his manager has in him. “Potentially, I would have liked to start more games, but I know the manager believes in me and I also know the abilities of our squad. I’m just being patient for more chances, but I’m enjoying my new surroundings in England. I’m going to pick up where we left off when I go back to England,” he added.

So far this season, Thomas-Asante has made four appearances in the English Championship, though he is still looking to score his first goal for Coventry. However, he made an immediate impact by scoring a crucial debut goal that secured a victory over Oxford United in the EFL Cup.

Currently, Thomas-Asante is with the Black Stars as they prepare for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger. He made his debut for Ghana in June during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic.
