Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has emphasized that he won’t rush for playing time at Coventry City following his move from West Bromwich Albion.
The 25-year-old joined Coventry City on a four-year deal during the summer transfer window after an impressive performance last season. Despite his eagerness to play more games, Thomas-Asante is taking a measured approach to settling in with his new team.
Speaking to the Ghanaian media, he explained, “I have changed teams, so it’s been a transition period. Naturally, when you go into a new team, it happens. When Aguero went to Manchester City, he didn’t get into the team straight away.”
He continued, “Potentially, I would love to start more games, but I know the manager believes in me, and I also know the abilities of our squad. I’m just being patient for more chances, but I’m enjoying my new surroundings in England. I’m going to pick up where we left off when I go back to England.”
So far, Thomas-Asante has made four appearances in the English Championship this season but is yet to find the back of the net. However, he did score a crucial debut goal that secured Coventry City’s victory over Oxford United in the EFL Cup.
Currently, Thomas-Asante is with the Black Stars as they prepare for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
