Barcelona’s recent acquisition of Ghanaian winger Abdul Aziz Issah from Dreams FC came at a cost of €1 million, sports journalist Saddick Adams has revealed.
The deal, finalized just before the close of the transfer window, saw Aziz join the Catalan club on an initial loan until June 2025.
Adams disclosed that Barcelona’s initial offer stood at €400,000, but the final agreement was negotiated to €1 million. “Barcelona offered €400,000, but the transfer ended up costing them €1 million,” Adams shared during an interview on Angel TV.
Aziz’s move to Barcelona forms part of a broader talent-scouting effort by the Spanish giants, which also saw David Oduro, another promising talent from the Ghana Premier League, sign a three-year permanent contract with the club. While Oduro’s deal is permanent, Aziz’s move is structured as a loan, with both players set to feature for Barcelona B.
Expressing optimism, Saddick Adams highlighted the significance of these transfers for Ghanaian football. “Our reputation as a country will rise depending on how they (Aziz and Oduro) fare. Oduro and Aziz are very good players,” Adams remarked.
Both players are hopeful of earning opportunities with the first team, having already trained under Barcelona’s current coach, Hansi Flick.
