Ghana’s representative in the 2024-2025 CAF Confederation Cup, Nsoatreman Football Club, has been eliminated from the competition after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Algeria’s CS Constantine in the second leg of their tie.
The reigning MTN FA Cup holders were beaten 3-0 on aggregate, following their 2-0 first-leg loss in Accra. Constantine’s forward Zakaria Benchaa was the standout performer, scoring the only goal of the second leg in the 20th minute.
After receiving a pass from the left, Benchaa worked the ball onto his left foot and curled it past the goalkeeper, effectively sealing the match and the tie.
Benchaa’s impact on the contest was decisive, as the 27-year-old had also scored both goals in Constantine’s 2-0 first-leg win. His three goals across the two legs ended Nsoatreman’s hopes of advancing further in their debut CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Despite the early exit, Nsoatreman aimed to replicate the success of fellow Ghanaian side Dreams FC, who reached the semifinals of last season’s competition. However, their inaugural continental journey came to an end in the second round.
