Ghanaian midfielder Elisha Owusu has earned a spot in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week after delivering an outstanding performance in AJ Auxerre’s 3-0 win over Brest on matchday 6 of the French league.
Owusu, a key member of the Black Stars, contributed both a goal and an assist in the dominant victory at the Stade de l’Abbé-Deschamps on Saturday. This marked his first goal of the season, and his impressive display earned him the Man of the Match accolade.
His performance secured him a place in the league’s best eleven for the week. Joining him in the lineup are his Auxerre teammate Jubal, Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi, Clinton Mata of Olympique Lyonnais, and Strasbourg’s Diego Moreira.
Other players selected for the Team of the Week include PSG’s Bradley Barcola, Angel Gomes and Jonathan David from Lille, Reims’ Junya Ito, and Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka.
Owusu will aim to maintain his strong form as Auxerre seeks to have a successful season following their return to Ligue 1.
