Ghana head coach Otto Addo has confirmed that he has conducted individual discussions with Black Stars players following their disappointing 0-0 draw and 2-0 defeat to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
These setbacks have placed the team in a challenging position as they strive to secure a spot in the upcoming tournament.
Speaking to the media team of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the matches, Coach Addo acknowledged the difficult circumstances the team is facing and highlighted the importance of these discussions.
“We had a productive conversation afterward, with individual talks focused on addressing specific issues and concerns,” he stated, emphasizing the need to evaluate both collective and individual performances. “Everybody was down; it was really a hard pill to swallow.”
Despite the tough outcomes, Otto Addo remains optimistic that the team can leverage these experiences for growth and improvement.
“We have many lessons to learn. I understand that we, as the Black Stars, represent Ghanaian society. We must do better and learn in a very painful way,” he reflected.
The coach is confident that the team will utilize these lessons to emerge stronger in the future.
