Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi is fully prepared to host football events, according to Patieno Adams, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the National Sports Authority (NSA) in Kumasi. Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, Adams confirmed that all work on the stadium has been completed and the facility is ready for use.
However, despite the stadium’s readiness, Adams mentioned that they are waiting for official clearance from authorities in Accra before the stadium can be opened to the public.
“All work at the Baba Yara Stadium is completed and ready to host any football events, however, we are awaiting clearance from our masters in Accra before the facility can be opened,” Adams stated.
This clearance process seems to be the final step before the stadium can once again become a hub for football matches and other sporting activities.
The completion of the work at Baba Yara Stadium is a significant development for sports fans in Kumasi, as it means the city is poised to host major events once the green light is given.
With this latest development, Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC who are currently playing their home games at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi will soon return to their favourite grounds in Kumasi to wow their fans.
