“Things will get better” – Aduana Stars assure fans amid tough season start

Aduana Stars’ Communications Director, Evans Oppong, has attributed the club’s struggles in the ongoing Ghana Premier League to the mass departure of players before the season began.

The two-time league champions have endured a difficult campaign, managing only two wins, six draws, and four defeats across their 12 games. Their poor form has left them in 13th place on the league table with 12 points, far below expectations for a side with their pedigree.

Ahead of the season, Aduana Stars released as many as 19 players, replacing them with recruits primarily from lower-tier clubs. Oppong believes this overhaul has disrupted the team’s rhythm and will require time for the new squad to adapt.

“Our fans should remain calm,” Oppong urged during an interview with Kessben FM. “We released 19 players and brought in replacements from lower-tier clubs. Naturally, things won’t fall into place immediately. The players are new and need time to settle at the club. With time, we will improve in the Ghana Premier League.”

Meanwhile, the club has parted ways with head coach Yaw Acheampong following a string of poor results. Acheampong’s position became untenable after a damaging loss to Asante Kotoko, culminating in a mutual agreement to part ways.

The departure of Acheampong further compounds the challenges facing Aduana Stars, who now face the task of rebuilding their season under new leadership.
