Asante Kotoko is preparing to appoint a new Technical Director, according to reports from Kumasi-based Kessben FM. This follows recent changes announced by the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) on Monday.
Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, a member of the IMC, has stepped down from his position. The decision, which is believed to have been approved by the club’s life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Manhyia Palace, will allow Dr. Ogum to focus entirely on his role as head coach, guiding the team toward their competitive goals.
To support Dr. Ogum’s efforts, the club has made the strategic decision to recruit a Technical Director. This move is aimed at strengthening the team’s performance as Kotoko looks to recover from a tough start to the Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors have faced significant criticism after enduring a five-match winless streak, but they managed to break that run with a 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars at Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday.
As it stands, Asante Kotoko occupies 7th place in the league standings with 18 points from 12 matches. The team will now turn their attention to their upcoming Matchday 13 encounter against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
