Former Black Galaxies midfielder Emmanuel Asiedu Attorbrah has expressed optimism about Mas-Ud Didi Dramani’s ability to guide the team to the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Ghana faces a challenging qualifier against Nigeria later this month, with the first leg set to take place in Accra between December 20 and 23, followed by the return leg in Abuja.

The Black Galaxies have been in camp for weeks under Dramani’s leadership, preparing intensively for the crucial tie. Attorbrah, speaking to Citi Sports, praised Dramani’s managerial skills and expressed confidence in his impact on the team.

“Although I haven’t played under him directly, I’ve heard a lot of positive things. He understands how to manage his players and bring out their best,” Attorbrah said.

Reflecting on past tournaments, Attorbrah acknowledged the Black Galaxies’ struggles but believes Dramani’s approach could be a game-changer.

“I hope that with Didi in charge this time, they can perform well and overcome Nigeria,” he stated.

Attorbrah emphasized the importance of preparation, citing cohesion and team chemistry as key factors for success.

“During our time, we spent a long time in camp. The team was cohesive, we understood each other’s strengths, and everyone had confidence in the coaches and one another. Winning matches and ultimately the tournament requires consistent effort,” he noted.

The Black Galaxies left for Togo earlier today to play friendly matches as part of their final preparations.

Ghana has struggled to make a significant impact at the CHAN since reaching the finals in 2009 and 2014. However, with Dramani at the helm, Attorbrah and fans are hopeful the team can overcome Nigeria and return to prominence on the continental stage.
