Ghana defender Dennis Odoi Frimpong played a crucial role in Royal Antwerp’s 2-2 draw with KRC Genk on Boxing Day, showcasing his versatility by featuring as a midfielder in the thrilling encounter at the Bosuilstadion.
Odoi made an immediate impact, providing an assist for the opening goal just 9 minutes into the match. His perfectly timed pass found Gyrano Kerk, who finished with precision to put Antwerp ahead.
However, Genk responded quickly, leveling the score just three minutes later through Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare. Kerk then gave Antwerp the lead again in the 30th minute with his second goal of the match, but Arokodare struck once more six minutes after the break to restore parity at 2-2.
Odoi, who played the full 90 minutes, continued to contribute defensively and offensively, while his compatriot, Christopher Bonsu Baah, made a second-half appearance for KRC Genk, replacing Noah Adedeji-Sternberg.
Since joining Royal Antwerp from Club Brugge in the summer transfer window, Odoi has become a key figure in the team, delivering three assists in 13 league appearances this season.
